Abstract: Objective: To analyze the medication rules in Professor ZHAO Ling's syndrome differentiation and treatment of Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) -related comorbidities based on data mining. Methods: Patients with HT treated by Professor ZHAO Ling at the Outpatient Department of Higher Education Mega Center Hospital,Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine from January 2018 to December 2024 were enrolled. Patient information was collected. The Ancient and Modern Medical Case Cloud Platform was utilized to analyze the frequency of comorbidities and the herb usage frequency in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) prescriptions. Association rule analysis was applied to screen high-frequency herb groups, and complex network analysis was used to explore the core herbal combinations. Results: A total of 734 patients were included, and four common HT-related comorbidities were identified( thyroid nodules, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, and subclinical hypothyroidism),involving 474 patient visits, and 397 prescriptions were included. From the prescriptions for these four comorbidities, the most frequently used herbs were:Bupleuri Radix,Poria,Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle,Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, and Pinelliae Rhizoma Praeparatum. Association rule analysis revealed that the herb groups with the highest association degree across all four HT-related comorbidities consistently included Bupleuri Radix, Pinelliae Rhizoma Praeparatum,Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle,Poria, and Scutellariae Radix. Complex network analysis identified the core herbal combination as:Bupleuri Radix,Poria,Pinelliae Rhizoma Praeparatum, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle, Scutellariae Radix, Atractylodis Rhizoma, Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, Paeoniae Radix Alba, Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma, Dioscoreae Nipponicae Rhizoma, Jujubae Fructus, and Bombyx Batryticatus. Conclusion:The frequently used herbal combinations by Professor ZHAO Ling in treating HT comorbid with thyroid nodules, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, and subclinical hypothyroidism consistently adhered to the therapeutic principle of "soothing the liver, strengthening the spleen, resolving phlegm, and dispelling stasis."
