Abstract:Objective:To analyze the medication rules of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in treating senile insomnia based on data mining technology. Methods: Clinical research literature on TCM in the treatment of senile insomnia published from January 2018 to February 2024 was retrieved from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform (Wanfang), and China Science and Technology Journal Database (VIP). Databases were constructed using SPSS Modeler 18.0 and SPSS Statistics 27.0. Frequency statistics of Chinese medicinal herbs,as well as their properties, flavors, and meridian entries, were performed on the included prescriptions. Association rule analysis and cluster analysis were conducted using the Apriori algorithm. Results: A total of 66 articles were included, involving 87 prescriptions and 218 Chinese medicinal herbs. Highfrequency herbs were primarily tonifying and mind-tranquilizing categories, including Ziziphi Spinosae Semen,Poria, Polygalae Radix, and Bupleuri Radix. The medicinal properties were mainly warm, cold, and neutral;flavors were predominantly sweet and bitter;and the meridian entries were primarily the heart, liver, spleen, lung, and kidney meridians. Association rule analysis revealed 10 groups of high-frequency herb pairs, and cluster analysis indicated three types of core prescriptions. Conclusion:TCM in the treatment of senile insomnia focuses on tonifying deficiency and tranquilizing the mind, emphasizing the synergistic application of therapeutic methods such as clearing heat, promoting blood circulation, and resolving phlegm. This reflects the core syndrome differentiation principle of “deficiency in the root and excess in the manifestation, with multi-organ simultaneous regulation”.
