Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction as adjuvant therapy of Jinchan Zhiyang Capsules on wasting-thirst complicated by skin itching with syndrome of damp-heat and blood stasis. Methods： A total of 102 patients with wasting-thirst complicated by skin itching were selected from Kaifeng Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2022 to December 2024， and they were divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method，with 51 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with routine hypoglycemic therapy. The control group was additionally given Jinchan Zhiyang Capsules， and the study group was additionally treated with Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction based on the treatment in the control group. The clinical effects in the two groups were evaluated，and the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores，blood glucose levels [fasting blood glucose （FBG） and 2-hour postprandial blood glucose （P2hBG）]， severity of skin itching [Visual Analogue Scale （VAS）]， and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results： The total effective rate was 94.12% （48/51） in the study group，higher than that of 78.43% （40/51） in the control group （P＜ 0.05）. After treatment， the scores of main symptoms， secondary symptoms and total scores of traditional Chinese medicine syndromes in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment （P＜0.05），and the above scores in the study group were lower than those in the control group （P＜0.05）. After treatment，the levels of FBG and P2hBG in the two groups were down-regulated when compared with those before treatment （P＜0.05）， and the levels of FBG and P2hBG in the study group were lower than those in the control group （P＜0.05）. After treatment，the VAS scores in the two groups were reduced when compared with those before treatment （P＜0.05），and the VAS score in the study group was lower than that in the control group （P＜0.05）. The incidence of adverse reactions was 9.80%（ 5/ 51） in the study group，lower than that of 25.49%（ 13/51） in the control group（ P＜0.05）. Conclusion：Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction as adjuvant therapy of Jinchan Zhiyang Capsules can enhance the clinical effect on patients with wastingthirst complicated by skin itching with syndrome of damp-heat and blood stasis， which can improve the traditional Chinese medicine syndromes，control the level of blood glucose and reduce the skin itching with great safety.
