Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical effect of wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with auricular point seed-pressing on postoperative pain in anorectal diseases. Methods:A total of 80 postoperative patients with anorectal diseases hospitalized in the Department of Proctology of The Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Longquanyi, Chengdu, from April 2023 to March 2025 were selected. They were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group using the random number table method, with 40 patients in each group. Both groups received conventional postoperative therapy and Compound Codeine Phosphate and Ibuprofen Sustained-Release Tablets. The observation group additionally received wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with auricular point seed-pressing therapy. Both groups were treated for 24 hours. Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores for surgical incision pain, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAD) scores were evaluated, the frequency of analgesic use was recorded, and the clinical efficacy was compared between the two groups. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). The VAS scores for pain in both groups increased at 4 hours postoperatively compared to baseline (P<0.05). Subsequently, the VAS scores for pain at each later time point (8, 12,and 24 hours postoperatively) decreased progressively compared to the previous time point (P<0.05). Moreover, the VAS scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group at 4, 8, 12, and 24 hours postoperatively (P<0.05). At 24 hours postoperatively, the HAD scores in the observation group decreased compared with those at enrollment (P<0.05),while the HAD scores in the control group increased (P<0.05),and the HAD score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). At 4 and 8 hours postoperatively, the frequency of analgesic use in the observation group was lower than that in the control group at the same time points (P<0.05). At 12 and 24 hours postoperatively, there were no statistically significant differences in the frequency of analgesic use between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: The addition of wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with auricular point seed-pressing for postoperative pain in anorectal diseases can enhance the efficacy of analgesia, effectively reduce perianal pain, decrease the use of postoperative analgesics, and alleviate postoperative anxiety and depression.
