Abstract： Objective： To observe the clinical effect of triple energizer qi-regulating acupuncture in improving post-stroke respiratory dysfunction. Methods： A total of 60 patients with respiratory dysfunction caused by stroke admitted to the Guangdong Second Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital， the first Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Universitiy of Chinese Medicine， and Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Huangpu District， Guangzhou from January to December 2023 were randomly divided into the rehabilitation group and the acupuncture group，with 30 patients in each group. The rehabilitation group was given basic treatment and respiratory rehabilitation training， while the acupuncture group was additionally treated with triple energizer qi-regulating acupuncture on the basis of the rehabilitation group. Both groups received a four-week treatment course. Before and after treatment，respiratory muscle function [peak cough flow （PCF），maximum expiratory pressure （MEP）]，diaphragm mobility，and blood gas analysis indicators [arterial partial pressure of oxygen （PaO2），oxygenation index （OI）] were compared between the two groups. Results： After two and four weeks of treatment， the levels of PCF and MEP in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment； after four weeks of treatment， the levels of PCF and MEP in the acupuncture group were higher than those in the rehabilitation group，differences being significant （P＜0.05）. After treatment，the diaphragm mobility in both groups was increased when compared with that before treatment，and the diaphragm mobility in the acupuncture group was higher than that in the rehabilitation group，differences being significant （P＜0.05）. After two and four weeks of treatment， the levels of PaO2 and OI in both groups were increased when compared with those before treatment， and after four weeks of treatment， the levels of PaO2 and OI in the acupuncture group were higher than those in the rehabilitation group， differences being significant （P＜0.05）. Conclusion： Triple energizer qiregulating acupuncture can effectively improve respiratory dysfunction in post-stroke patients，and effectively enhance respiratory muscle strength，diaphragm mobility，and pulmonary ventilation function.
