Innovation and Practice in the High-Quality Construction of the "AI + Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Medical Consortium" in the Northern Guangdong Counties
Abstract:With the deepening advancement of the county-level healthcare system reform,the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) medical consortium in northern Guangdong faces multiple challenges due to economic lag and scarce medical resources. Based on synergy theory and ecosystem theory,this study explores an innovative path for the highquality development of an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled TCM medical consortium,using the "AI + tightly-knit county-level TCM medical consortium" in Qujiang district,Shaoguan city,as a practical case. As deep participants in the project's design and implementation, our research team collaborated with the leading hospital (Qujiang District People's Hospital), 12 township health centers, a third-party technology enterprise, and Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine to establish a new medical consortium model centered on an AI-assisted TCM disease diagnosis support system and a shared TCM pharmacy. By developing an AI-assisted TCM diagnosis and treatment system covering 20 priority disease categories and 49 digital models, and establishing a digital inheritance platform for TCM clinical experience and an intelligent TCM service system, the integrated and intelligent upgrading of TCM resources was achieved. Practice has shown that this model significantly optimizes human resource allocation and dispatch costs, enhances the efficiency of primary-level TCM diagnosis and treatment,and promotes comprehensive progress in TCM mentorship education and the efficiency of TCM pharmaceutical services.
