Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and moxibustion combined with modified Jianwei Xiaopi Decoction in the treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG). Methods:A total of 102 CAG patients treated at Zhengzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2023 to July 2024 were selected and divided into the control group and the study group using the random number table method, with 51 cases in each group. The control group received modified Jianwei Xiaopi Decoction, while the study group received acupuncture and moxibustion on the basis of the control group′s treatment. The clinical efficacy of both groups was evaluated, and comparisons were made regarding gastric antral contraction frequency, gastric antral contraction amplitude, gastric evacuation time, serum levels of interleukin-1 (IL-1) and interleukin-6 (IL-6), as well as adverse reactions. Results: The total effective rate in the study group was 88.24% (45/51), which was higher than that of 70.59%(36/51) in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, both groups showed an increase in gastric antral contraction frequency and amplitude, and a shortening of gastric evacuation time compared with those before treatment (P<0.05);furthermore, the study group had higher gastric antral contraction frequency and amplitude, and a shorter gastric evacuation time than the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, serum levels of IL-1 and IL-6 decreased in both groups compared with those before treatment (P<0.05);and the study group had lower serum levels of IL-1 and IL-6 than the control group (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture and moxibustion combined with modified Jianwei Xiaopi Decoction in the treatment of CAG can effectively improve patients′ clinical symptoms and gastric motility, inhibit the expression of inflammatory factors, and enhance clinical efficacy.
