Abstract: Emotional disorders, including anxiety, depression, and insomnia, are closely related to an individual's mental state. As a traditional Chinese medicine therapy, auricular acupuncture demonstrates definite therapeutic effects in the treatment of emotional disorders by stimulating specific points on the auricle to regulate the body's physiological and pathological states. This article systematically reviews and summarizes relevant research literature from the past decade. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, the theoretical basis for auricular acupuncture in the treatment of emotional disorders lies in the specific correspondence between auricular points and the body's meridians, as well as zang-fu organs. Stimulating auricular points can regulate the functions of corresponding zang-fu organs to achieve clinical therapeutic effects, particularly regulating the heart, liver, and spleen, which are closely associated with emotions. Analyzed from the perspective of modern medical research progress, the mechanisms of auricular acupuncture for emotional disorders involve multiple aspects, including the regulation of neural pathways, modulation of neurotransmitter levels, influence on neuroendocrine axes, and suppression of immune-inflammatory responses.
