Abstract: This paper introduces Professor NIE Bin's clinical experience in treating chronic nonspecific neck pain (CNP) with surface-line-point thinking. Based on Chinese medicine meridian and collateral theory and modern anatomy,Professor NIE holds that the pathogenesis of CNP evolves from "collaterals" (surface) to "meridians" (line) and then to "shu points" (point),forming a mesh-like pathological structure. Taking the collateral-meridian-shu point model in meridian and collateral theory as the treatment path,he proposed the meridian tendon stick therapy:scraping the surface to unblock collaterals, pushing meridians along the line to separate muscles, kneading points to relieve knots, combined with distal shu points of the three yang meridians and exercise therapy. This achieves unblocking local lesions and regulating qi-blood of the neck and shoulders, thereby effectively treating CNP.
