Introduction of Experience of LAO Jinxiong in Treating Post-Stroke Sequelae with Acupuncture and Moxibustion Based on the Cultivating Origin and Nourishing Heart Method
Abstract: This article introduces Professor LAO Jinxiong's clinical experience in treating post-stroke sequelae with acupuncture and moxibustion based on the "cultivating origin and nourishing heart" method. Professor LAO believes that although the disease location of post-stroke sequelae is in the brain and marrow,it actually involves the five zang organs, with kidney deficiency and marrow emptiness as the root, and spleen deficiency with impaired transportation as the pivot, forming the core pathogenesis. In clinical practice, combined with the concept of cultivating origin and nourishing the heart, he has developed an acupuncture and moxibustion prescription that primarily uses back-shu points to cultivate origin and regulate the zang-fu organs, complemented by points such as Baihui (GV20), Fengchi (GB20), Danzhong (CV17), Zhongwan (CV12), Xiawan (CV10), Qihai (CV6), Guanyuan (CV4), Zusanli( ST36),Xuehai( SP10),Liangqiu( ST34),Fenglong( ST40),and Chengshan( BL57) to nourish the heart and open the orifices. This approach reflects the holistic view of integrating the body and spirit, and has shown significant efficacy in treating post-stroke sequelae.
