Abstract: Traditional teaching models of Chinese medicine translation face difficulties posed by the archaic language and rich cultural connotations of Chinese medicine classics. In recent years, emerging large language models like ChatGPT, with their powerful language processing and generation capabilities, have brought transformative opportunities to translation education. Focusing on graduate-level Chinese medicine English translation courses, this study explores innovative teaching approaches that integrate ChatGPT into pre-class, in-class, and post-class activities. It designs a teaching process and task system based on "AI assistance + teacher guidance + student-centered learning",while proposing corresponding teaching experiment plans to verify effectiveness through instructional design and task unit development, implementation processes and dynamic adjustments, as well as evaluation and feedback mechanisms. The study also examines typical issues and countermeasures in ChatGPT-enabled Chinese medicine English translation courses, including untranslatable terms, culture-loaded words, classical Chinese sentence patterns and structural conversion, and noun terminology, aiming to enhance students' Chinese medicine translation proficiency and cross-cultural communication skills.
