Abstract：This paper introduces Professor WANG Lingjun's clinical experience in treating chronic heart failure based on the thought of treating yin and supporting yang. Professor WANG Lingjun holds that this disease occurs due to excessive internal yin pathogens blocking the ascending of heart yang under the imbalance of pathogenesis such as insufficient heart yang， deficiency of heart yin， excessive phlegm-damp， and intermingled blood stasis. Based on the thought of "treating yin and supporting yang"，in clinical practice，he dredges and tonifies the blood vessels to treat blood stasis blocking the heart vessels； tonifies and promotes qi to restore yang for chronic disease with qi deficiency； strengthens the spleen to resolve phlegm， promotes diuresis to expel fluid retention for adverse fluid accumulation；warms yang to treat heart vessel disorder. In a word，the treatment takes warming and tonifying heart yang，replenishing qi and nourishing yin as the foundation，and simultaneously takes into account invigorating blood and resolving stasis，resolving phlegm and promoting diuresis.
