Abstract： This article introduces Professor WANG Bangcai's clinical experience in treating chronic urticaria. Professor WANG believes that the occurrence of chronic urticaria is closely related to external invasion of wind pathogens and internal accumulation of damp-heat， with the fundamental pathogenesis involving nutritive-defense disharmony and disharmony of the five viscera. The treatment primarily focuses on dispersing wind， clearing heat， draining dampness，and resolving toxins，while also regulating the five viscera and harmonizing the nutritive and defense. For externally expelling wind pathogens and internally eliminating damp-heat，the modified Mahuang Lianyao Chixiaodou Decoction is often used as the basic formula. The treatment also addresses the five viscera individually from lung defense， spleen transportation， liver qi， heart blood， and kidney essence to ultimately achieve the effect of harmonizing the nutritive and defense.
