Abstract： Objective： To observe the efficacy of Shengxuebao Mixture combined with Iron Polysaccharide Complex Capsules in the treatment of gestational Mediterranean anemia and its effect on pregnancy outcomes. Methods： A total of 100 pregnant women diagnosed with Mediterranean anemia at Jiaxing Maternity and Child Health Care Hospital from February 2022 to May 2024 were enrolled. They were divided into the control group and the treatment group according to the random number table method，with 50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Iron Polysaccharide Complex Capsules， while the treatment group received Shengxuebao Mixture combined with Iron Polysaccharide Complex Capsules. Both groups were treated for four weeks. The clinical efficacy，incidence of adverse reactions， and pregnancy outcomes were compared between the two groups. Changes in mean corpuscular volume （MCV）， mean corpuscular hemoglobin （MCH）， hemoglobin （Hb）， serum ferritin （SF）， and traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores before and after treatment were also compared. Results：The total clinical effective rate was 94.00% （47/50） in the treatment group and 78.00% （39/50） in the control group， showing a statistically significant difference between the two groups （P＜0.05）. After treatment， the levels of MCV， MCH， Hb， and SF increased in both groups compared to before treatment （P＜0.05），and the levels of these indicators in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group （P＜0.05）. After treatment，the scores of sallow complexion，tidal fever and night sweats， and palpitation and shortness of breath decreased in both groups compared to before treatment （P＜0.05），and these three traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group （P＜0.05）. During treatment，the incidence of adverse reactions was 6.00% （3/50） in the control group and 8.00% （4/50） in the treatment group，with no statistically significant difference between the two groups （P＞0.05）. The incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes was 28.00% （14/50） in the control group and 12.00% （6/50） in the treatment group，showing a statistically significant difference between the two groups （P＜0.05）. Conclusion： Shengxuebao Mixture combined with Iron Polysaccharide Complex Capsules can improve symptoms of iron deficiency anemia， enhance hematopoietic function， effectively reduce the incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes，and exhibits high safety in patients with gestational Mediterranean anemia.
