Abstract: Based on the theory of sweat pores, this study aims to elucidate the pathological nature of chronic kidney disease characterized by root deficiency and branch excess, and to explore the theoretical basis and clinical experience of Chinese medicine retention enema in the treatment of this disease. The core disease location of chronic kidney disease is the kidney. Renal sweat pores, as part of the sweat pore system, serves both as a gateway for the ascending, descending, entering, and exiting of qi movement and as a pathway for the circulation of body fluids and blood. Stagnation and obstruction of renal sweat pores constitute the main pathological basis of chronic kidney disease. Depending on the different etiological factors and pathological mechanisms leading to sweat pores obstruction, various methods are clinically employed to open the sweat pores, including dispersion,heat-clearing,deficiency-tonifying, blood-activating,and toxin-removing. Chinese medicine retention enema is used to regulate the qi movement of triple energizer, stimulate the qi transformation in the lower energizer, promote the direct delivery of medicinal effects to the diseased location, unblock renal sweat pores, restore the normal opening and closing of sweat pores, and facilitate the normal circulation of qi,blood, and body fluids. This approach may help delay disease progression and is intended to provide new insights for clinical treatment.
