Abstract: Objective: To explore the prescription-syndrome type and medication rules of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in treating Parkinson's disease (PD) by conducting a multi-dimensional data mining analysis of relevant medical case literature. Methods: Literature published from the inception of databases including CNKI, VIP, Wanfang, and CBM until February 15, 2025, was retrieved. A PD medication database was established via Excel. High-frequency Chinese herbs (frequency≥10) were analyzed via Lantern 5.0 and Rstudio software for latent structure modeling, comprehensive clustering, and association rule mining. Results: A total of 239 prescriptions involving 187 Chinese herbs with a total frequency of 2 802 occurrences were included. The top 5 high-frequency herbs were Paeoniae Radix Alba, Gastrodiae Rhizoma, Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, Angelicae Sinensis Radix, and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma.Herbal natures were primarily warm, cold, and neutral;flavors were mainly sweet, bitter, and acrid; channel entries were predominantly the liver, kidney, and spleen channels. The primary effect category was deficiency-supplementing herbs, followed by liver-calming and wind-suppressing herbs. The latent structure model identified 19 latent variables,38 latent classes, and 5 comprehensive clustering models, leading to the summarization of 14 core prescriptions. The main TCM syndrome types of PD were inferred as wind stirring due to phlegm-heat,qi and blood deficiency, insufficiency of the marrow sea,yin deficiency of the liver and kidney, and wind stirring due to blood stasis.Association rule analysis yielded 18 strong rules. The rule "Angelicae Sinensis Radix + Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata → Paeoniae Radix Alba" had the highest support, while the rules "Testudinis Carapax et Plastrum+Ostreae Concha → Paeoniae Radix Alba" and "Angelicae Sinensis Radix + Puerariae Lobatae Radix→ Paeoniae Radix Alba" had the highest confidence. Conclusion: The pathogenesis of PD is characterized by a root deficiency (yin deficiency of the liver and kidney,qi and blood deficiency) and branch excess (wind, fire, phlegm, stasis). The treatment should focus on clearing heat, resolving phlegm, boosting qi,and nourishing blood, assisted by suppressing wind and unblocking collaterals.
